Novel: Peer Network

In its mission to inspire and enable the next generation of innovation leaders in the city region, NOVEL offers you the exclusive opportunity to nominate your best and emerging talent to join our facilitated Peer Network.

Invited members will join a like-minded group of business professionals, formed to support each other to activate innovation. Participants will share challenges, solutions, knowledge, expertise and experience through action-based learning principles. We anticipate 3 facilitated half-day sessions beginning in February with ongoing provision of support throughout.

Action learning is an approach to problem solving and learning in groups to bring about change in individuals, teams, organisations and systems. It is based on the principle that the most effective learning takes place in the context in which people are working.

Facilitation will be provided by Paul Jones and Julie Meadows, from our industry partner Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA), who have over 50 years of business experience up to and including board-level across a wide range of industry sectors.

Facilitated peer networks based on action learning principles have many benefits for participants, including:

· Learning from others

· Perspective shift

· Accountability

· Building relationships

· Perpetuation

· Reflective practice

The benefits of a peer network have been proven to last well beyond the initial series and we expect that the participants will continue post-programme, with sessions becoming self-facilitated by the group members. Groups often form LinkedIn, or WhatsApp groups and maintain interactions in some cases for many years.

As places are limited, we’re inviting your expressions of interest by Friday 14th February.

Nominations are open to delegates already enrolled on the wider Novel programme or emerging leaders from their organisations.
